What to Expect/Outcome Measurements
What Is The Initial Visit Experience at Rasta Wellness?
Our office offers a very comprehensive initial visit to ensure your body is at it’s peak performance. Our initial visit is broken down into two visits to give you an experience beyond all your expectations.
You will experience a comprehensive evaluation, two somatic treatments by our doctors, as well as variety of technologies that will address your health concern.
When you make your initial visit appointment, our receptionist will send you all the forms that need to be filled out before your visit.
There will be a metabolic form to understand how your organs are functioning, there is a brain assessment form to dive into the function of your brain and there is a general questionnaire to understand your main complaint and overall wellness goals.
On your first visit, we will start our evaluation by doing 3 non-invasive scans of your body that will give us an overall idea of how your body is using its energy to operate. We use the following outcome measure tools to ensure your progress overtime.

Heart Rate Variability Scan
We use an advance technology to measure your Heart rate variability or HRV, which is the physiological phenomenon of the variation in the time interval between consecutive heartbeats in milliseconds. By measuring this signal, we will understand how your nervous system is operating. HRV is regulated by the autonomic nervous system (ANS), and its sympathetic and parasympathetic branches, and it is commonly accepted as a non-invasive marker of autonomic nervous system activity. The sympathetic branch of the ANS is the stress or fight or flight system, getting us ready to act, react, and perform – to meet the different demands that life throws at us. The parasympathetic side is characterized as the rest and digest system that allows the body to power down, heal and recover. The sympathetic branch activates stress hormone production and increases the heart’s contraction rate and force (cardiac output) and decreases HRV, which is needed mentally or physically stressful situations. What is optimal for the body is to be able to move between these two phases seamlessly. Our goal for our clients is to reach this optimal signal of HRV. The bellow image shows stressed client vs a client that has achieved optimal HRV, one who is adaptive enough to move between the two branches of nervous system, without being stuck in one.
Neuro-Thermal Scan
This technology measures subtle changes in temperature to gain an in sight on how the nerves are supplying the organs, vessels, and glands. If there is too much signal to a specific organ or gland, we may order further testing or create a specific protocol that supports the organ or gland. This technology allows the practitioner and client to have a deeper understanding of which organs may be under stress.

Surface Elector-Myogrpahy
S-EMG is a reliable test to understand how the nervous system is sending signals to paraspinal muscles while the person is seated. This technology allows us to detect soft tissue injuries, muscular dysfunction and gives us an idea of how much energy is being sent into the muscular system from the nervous system.
Once the doctor is done with the examination part, the client will receive a somatic treatment tailored towards their need.
Dr. Rasta is experienced with a variety of somatic techniques that she will use depending on the need of the client. We Offer network spinal to all our clients since that is a technique that helps our client develop an organized nervous system to deep healing and fast recovery.

You Will Then Use Our Vibroacoustic Technology.

What Is Vibroacoustic Technology?
Vibroacoustic Therapy uses low frequencies and therapeutic music delivered through special speakers called transducers. The transducers are embedded a very comfortable mattress that you will lay on. As a person’s body has contact with the embedded speakers, the music is sent from the source into the transducers and then is felt by the body as vibration and heard by the ears as sound. The vibro-tactile input stimulates nerve bundles along the spine, up into the brain stem and then through the limbic system. In addition, the sound stimulates the medulla in the brain stem and activates the auditory nerve that connects with all the muscles of the body. These reactions signal the body to relax and flood the brain with mood lifting chemicals. In addition, the low frequencies also cause a relaxation of the tissues, and a dilation of blood vessels and an opening of the lymphatic pathways which in turn increases the body’s ability to heal.
On your second visit we will be going over your report of finding, the results of your scans, blood chemistry analysis if you any, as well as recommendation protocol that usually involved dietary changes, detox & supplementation protocol.
You will receive your second somatic treatment from our doctors and then use our energy wave therapy technology that will be set for your specific needs, weather it is musculoskeletal, lack of energy or anxiety. We will have a protocol for it.

What Is Energy Wave Therapy?

Energy Wave therapy is a new era of electrotherapy, which was developed by German scientists. It has incorporated all modern technologies of physics, musicology, and mathematics, and, of course, medicine. Achieving a therapeutic effect is carried out by starting a chain of intracellular reactions. High-frequency electric currents, which are used in Energy wave therapy, trigger intracellular oscillations, resulting in improved metabolism within cells, rejuvenation, and energy production. With the help of this technology, it is possible to achieve general healing of the body, and restoration of functions lost by organs and systems.
Energy Wave Therapy procedures have the following healing effects:
⦁ anti-inflammatory;
⦁ anesthetic (the effectiveness of Energy Wave Therapy in relieving pain and spasms is significantly superior to other methods, including medication);
⦁ elimination of any types of intoxication;
⦁ anti-stress;
⦁ cosmetic (elimination of orange peel and cellulite);
⦁ body shaping (burns deep fat deposits, which cannot be eliminated in other ways);
⦁ muscle stimulation.
Lastly you will use our infrared sauna on a setting that best matches you need that day.
What are the benefits of Infrared sauna?
⦁ better sleep
⦁ relaxation
⦁ detoxification
⦁ weight loss
⦁ relief from sore muscles
⦁ relief from joint pain such as arthritis
⦁ clear and tighter skin
⦁ improved circulation
⦁ help for people with chronic fatigue syndrome

How Do We Measure Your Progress?

Blood Chemistry Analysis
Most of our clients either bring their recent blood work from their primary care physician or have us order them a comprehensive panel at the begging of their care. After their course of treatment we often do another panel to make sure they have improved in their markers and their chemistry has highly improved through following the protocol that was assigned to them.
Stool Analysis
Many of our clients who have gastro-intestinal problems are given a test called GI-Map. Gastrointestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP™) is a test to determine what microbes are in a patient stool sample, and in what quantities. It works by repeatedly copying any DNA in the sample and then analyzing what and how much DNA it finds. It is able to find germs in amounts as low as one cell per 10 grams. It is also very good at finding parasites, which is very important because it is estimated that up to one in four American adults live with a parasite such as H. Pylori. Many are unaware of it. For example, certain organisms which are common in healthy individuals, such as Candida, can cause health problems if they are in excess. This is a condition known as dysbiosis. Candida in particular can cause many chronic issues, such as fatigue, lethargy, rashes, joint pains, constipation, and diarrhea, among others. The GI-MAP also measures certain non-microbial factors. It measures levels of certain immune system function and digestive proteins which are considered to be especially good signs of digestive function and gastrointestinal health. Too much or too little of these proteins can be a sign of a range of gut issues, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD or IBS) or Leaky Gut Syndrome. Leaky Gut Syndrome is an especially important part of the test, as it is common but poorly understood by modern medicine. It is a problem with the lining of the intestines which lets germs and undigested food into the bloodstream and can cause bloating, gas, cramps, and food sensitivities. Most our clients will follow our protocol and after few months become symptom less, we often order a follow up GI-map test to ensure their progress.

Food Sensitivity Testing
We measure 132 IgG reactions to foods, colorings and additives including Candida. Through a food sensitivity test we will find out which foods you are sensitive to and help you eliminate those foods so you are not putting your body in a constant state of inflammation. In a true food allergy, an immune compound called Immunoglobulin E (IgE) over-reacts to a certain food and causes a reaction within minutes or seconds. You can think of immunoglobulins like soldiers enlisted in our own personal immune army. Substances like egg, corn, or apples are normally harmless or healthy, but if you have an allergy, your body sees the food as a threatening invader! In mild reactions, we might get histamine-driven symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, or itching, like with seasonal allergies. In a more aggressive reaction, you can develop hives, swelling, and even go into anaphylactic shock, which can be life threatening. IgG is another type of immunoglobulin. IgG is produced by cells in the gut, in response to protein markers on substances like foods and bacteria. While IgE causes reactions within minutes, IgG causes reactions in 2 hours to 4 days or more! Unlike true food allergy (IgE), IgG reactions are responsible for most of the symptoms that we associate with being “intolerant” or “sensitive” to a food. While the symptoms from an IgG response typically won’t include risk of death, they can still be uncomfortable and dangerous. For this reason, food intolerances are often dismissed as less significant, but in truth they can have serious consequences, especially with regard to your long-term health! IgG-mediated symptoms can show up from 4 hours to 4 days after exposure to the reactive food. Clearly, this makes it difficult to identify what food caused what symptom and this is why a food sensitivity test may be what will help you overcome food in tolerances. The best part is that this test is a blood spot panel. This means that we can mail it to you to do in the comfort of your own home– no blood draw needed! Based on your results, we design a 6-12 week elimination of your trigger foods, and then a systematic reintroduction to check for reactions. In most cases, antibody production in response to a given food will decrease or be eliminated within that time. When that happens, you may be able to reintroduce the food again without symptoms.
